Prepare music for May concert

This week we will begin repertoire for the May concert.

We will be SightReading and working on our Rhythm skills

Finally, we will end the year with a composer a week.  This week will be Bach.

DRESS REHEARSAL – Tuesday, March 6 after school til 5:00

Rehearse for upcoming concert on Thursday, March 8

Friday, watch a musical of some sort as a reward of a great concert.

Spend lots of time learning and memorizing ‘I have seen the face of God’ and ‘Gloria Canon’ for their concert next week.

CONCERT – THURSDAY, MARCH 8 AT 6:30 IN THE AUDITORIUM

Continue the Theory unit that we are on

Continue learning Gloria Canon and I have Seen the Face of God

Begin reviewing last semesters songs for upcoming concert

We will be reviewing key signatures – particularly C Major/A minor, G Major/E minor, F Major/D minor

We will continue learning ‘Gloria Canon’ and ‘I have Touched the Face of God’

5th and 6th period – Continue rhythm work of 16th notes

8th period – Continue rhythm work of dotted quarter notes

7/8 – This week we are working on lots of sight singing to help prepare the students that are participating in the Region Auditions on October 14.

We are also beginning F Major and D minor and will be continuing rhythm work.

We will continue to work on our Concert Music.

6 – We are beginning eighth note rhythms

We will continue to work on our Concert Music.

We will finish the unit on Renaissance music

There will be an exam on Friday covering the material that we have been working on the past 3 weeks.

We will continue working on our concert music which will be in December.

Region rehearsals are happening before and after school  – 7:15-7:50 am and 3:40-4:30 pm

Learn music for upcoming concert.  Will work on obtaining official date this week.

Begin looking at Renaissance music and it’s characteristics.
